I am worried and U don't get an answer that makes sense from KA customer SVC. This item heats and does not have a grid for venting nor an exhaust vent. I am installing in new cabinets and the trim seems that it's not right. It does not have a grid! I would like a technical explanation of how this equipment vents itself!

I purchased this unit as a replacement that broke and let me say I am so happy the prior unit broke. The KitchenAid microwave is so superior that it makes cooking almost a joy.The range of features it has makes it useful for just about anything you may want to cook.

I don't usually do any real cooking in my microwave other than an occasional vegetable. I typically only use for reheating, popcorn, and water for tea so I didn't want to spend a lot for a microwave when I replaced all the appliances in our new home. I was however a bit intrigued at the possibility of convection capability for potatoes which I make often. That said, I upped the anty slightly to have convection capability in the microwave even though my oven has the same capability. Just thought it would be a bit more economical using a smaller appliance. Have only tried it one time and didn't see that much of a time savings over the regular bake cycle on my oven. I'm sure energy wise it was the better choice. I love the stainless steel interior and find it much easier to clean than the typical microwave interior material. The one thing I don't like is you have to use a pretty firm touch on all the buttons as opposed to the very light touch on my KA wall oven. Same company - would be nice if the buttons were the same!

I've had this microwavefor over 18 months. It works great! I love that I can use it as a small oven for cooking small batches of cookies, pizza, etc., and use it as a warming oven instead of using my big oven. I can use convection or regular baking or as a regular microwave oven.

The microwave works well, but the trim kit should be metal not plastic and the hidden screw design makes difficult to center precisely, and since it's plastic it's very fragile

I have had this product for five weeks now and we have had no issues with it. We thought we would use the convection and grilling option more, but it does take some time to heat up so we just use the microwave mainly to heat up our food, which it does quite well.

It's a reasonably sized microwave AND convection oven. Have yet to use the convection feature, however am sure it will come in handy, particularly for holiday meals. The microwave rings at least 3 times to let you know when the job, a nice feature. The unit is not oversized, like most microwaves these days, and is large enough to accommodate all uses without taking up a lot of space.

Could not wait to use the bake function. It not only bakes but browns just like my normal oven! I have used all of the features several time now and each time it came out perfect. No need to pre-heat first nor wait for the room to cool down like a oven would. My oven can now sit back and take a long rest!

We've owned this microwave for a month now, and we're pretty satisfied with the features and usability.
This is the first microwave with a broiler element, and we've used that a lot. Basic microwaving is speedy, at least relative to our old microwave. We haven't yet used the convection bake.
The controls for basic operations are clear and easy; there are still a bunch of buttons that haven't been pushed yet.
Our one complaint is the door: the release button is hard to push (the microwave would slide backwards until I put rubber feet on), and it is quite loud to close. It could use a more fluid mechanism, and perhaps a more solid door that didn't reverberate so much.

I ordered this and had significant restrictions - while it is a "counter top microwave" mine was located as a built-in space in the kitchen cabinets - so my size restrictions were exacting. I bought this the summer of 2016. The door opener button cracked in half and fell out. Customer service states no parts available. They said if i wanted it fixed I would need to purchase another unit. This was purchased along with a built in trim kit during a kitchen remodel. I also purchased built in stove and cook top. I have little faith in Kitchen Aid products now. I would not recommend this product to any one. This is the first review I have ever written on any product, that is how frustrated I am with Kitchen Aid!

when we bought our replacement Oven we went with KAid and also replaced the built in Mic with this convection mic. Ordered the Facia that makes this look like a built in and it is wonderful. Love the easy read panel and the ease of determining Convection or mic. Comes with 2 racks and great directions.

I bought this a few weeks ago to replace our countertop microwave that no longer worked. We decided to spend the extra money and buy a convection microwave. Of all the ones we looked at quality of construction , favorable customer reviews this one rose above others. So far I am please . The only thing I wish the bottom feet were a bigger footprint with more ply able rubber. I solved this problem by putting small rubber squares under were the feet sit in the countertop. This keeps the microwave from sliding when we open and close the door. Other than this I find nothing else that I didn't like about this microwave. It's hard to find a decent microwave/ convection combo, since most are made for above the stove . We are more than pleased with the size and function of this unit.

Don't buy the KitchenAid convection oven/microwave if you like your $600+ appliances to look decent. it's been just over a month and the keypad is peeling and looks like trash.
KitchenAid doesn't care about their design flaw and said I that I was stuck with it. (The broken turntable should've been my first clue to return it, but it was Christmas.)

I use it more as a convection oven then I do a microwave. My only negative remark would be that it doesn't let me know when it's preheated to the temperature I set it at. Otherwise, works great!

We purchased this microwave 18 months ago, but it has a different model # (KCMC1575BSS), and like john321, it does not heat to the assigned temperature and is off by at least 100°. Not sure if this is something that can be fixed or is it a general problem with all of these microwave/Convection ovens.

Purchased this to replace a Sharp. Wanted a microwave with convection oven so I wouldn't have to heat up the kitchen. Last night we cooked a whole chicken. Came out perfect! The only thing that I wish was that the Cooking Guide Sticker was in English. Is there anyway that one can be sent in English? (Not just the headings) This would be nice instead of having to keep going back to the book all the time for recommended cooking times.

i just brought this home a week ago. Its been installed in a microwave oven nook, I'm disappointed in the convection bake, the thermostat is off by fifty degrees. i removed the unit to give it more ventilation. If I preheat for 400, the unit will beep ready at 350, if i wait another ten minutes the temperature will creep to 375, but thats it. I am measuring this with an independent oven thermometer that i have test on several ovens, it is calibrated correctly. It is a good unit apart from this complaint, lets see how costumer service approaches this.
